How to change SL SSRS report query

I want to add new fields to existing SSRS report. I found it in Usr_Rpts folder, added new fields to DataSet query and to design. But now when i'm running report from SL new fields are empty.

This report have shared data source and when I'm opening rdl file it always prompts to select Report server but I don't have any so I have to click "cancel" and manually update dataset fields list. Where could I be ?

As I understand ROISRS changes report query on report run but I can not find this place in SL. There is simple button on the input form that does not have any VB code behind. I managed to find my report in screens but I could not find link between button and this screen and how it replace the query.

RE: How to change SL SSRS report query

Hi I'll explain you what I did to add additional fields to 08758.rdl report. So maybe can help you.

    1. If you don't have access to a SSRS Server, you can install SQL Developer version and install the SSRS. If you have access to a SSRS Server you can go to step 3.
    2. Restore a backup of APP and SYS or create a Demo database of SL.
    3. Once you have the SL database running you can create a Shared Datasource on SSRS Server with the same name of the Shared Datasource of the report. Example (SLDemoApp60)
      1. I create a folder with name Shared DataSources
      2. Inside of this folder create a Shared Datasource with name SLDemoApp60 and a connection string to my CompanyApp database and SQL credentials.
    4. Install the Report Builder application for SQL Server 2014 on your machine
    5. With the Report Builder edit the Report
      1. Open the rdl report and click on Data Sources - SLDemoApp60 - Data Source Properties
      2. Connect to SSRS Server. Example (http://localhost/reportserver)
      3. Click on Browse button and open the Shared DataSources and select the SLDempApp60 shared datasource.
      4. Click on Test Connection button and check for a success connection.
      5. Go to Datasets and click on Dataset Properties
      6. Click on Query Designer and run the query to test that everything is working correctly.
      7. Edit the query to add your new fields and click OK button.
      8. Add the new fields to the designer and click on Run button you must see the new fields or if the reports need a pre or post process you can copy your new report to Usr_Reports folder and test it from Dynamics.

    Regards.
