Visual studio Solution explorer not showing new added items by item type like Base Enums

on my laptop  F&O VM I am using Visual studio version 2019. In the project I added two Base Enums - DemoBranchCode and DemoCustomeType. In the Solution explorer I do not see the two under folder Base Enums. I am able to see the new added Base Enums in the Base Enums folder in Visual studio started in Microsoft lab. Not sure what setting is wrong in my environment, image attached below.

    Hi Leo Mascarenhas

You need to enable organize elements by type property. Set it in below path.

Go to the Dynamics 365 menu >> Options >> Select "Dynamics 365" >> Projects tab >> Check the 'Organize projects by element type'.

Also, this will take into consideration only for newly added elements. Not for existing elements. For existing elements, you need to manually move the objects into respective folder.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

Thank you Girish for your quick response. I am now able to see in new projects.

I am not able to see the folders in old project that was started before I had turned on the option. Is there a way to see for old project too? I tried closing and opening the solution, it did not help.

Unfortunately, there is no option to organize elements by type for existing projects. You need to create new folder and drag all the object to respective folder like below.
