An Unknown error occurred when initializing the conversion GP 2015 R2

I was doing my first upgrade to GP 2015 R2(14.00.0952) from 11.00.2248(GP 2010) and immediately when it starts to upgrade the DYNAMICS database I receive this message "An Unknown error occurred when initializing the conversion". I clicked OK and it continued and when I checked the DUINSTALL.LOG file there is nothing to indicate any issues. Has anyone else experienced this? I will be checking this out more fully once the upgrade is completed.

    Hi All,

I resolved this issue after deleting everything from DU000030 table.

Also make sure in SQL that you set the compatibility on the database properties to the version of SQL you are using and that the dbowner is DYNSA two most common issues.

My fix was that the ODBC was not named correctly - changed that and upgrade went fine.

I just received the same error - was there a fix?

Richard, did the update complete without any additional errors?

Wondering what version of SQL you are on?  and what the database version (90, 100, 110) the various database might have been set at.

I just did an update from GP2010 and I had to stop at Gp2013 just cause I simply ran out of time - the conversion from GP2010 to GP2013 should have been simple, however, I had to fix a number of Database version issues and that is why I was tossing that one over to you.

How did you resolve, or did you have to resolve any other issues?
