Have you ever seen Outlook/CRM integration cause a mail message to be "left" in drafts?

I have a user that insists that he is sending tracked messages that get left in Outlook drafts and that do not send even though he claims to have hit send.  I am trying to find any scenario were the outlook client throws a "silent exception" and fails to send a tracked message, thus resulting in a draft message.   This is Outlook 2010 with CRM 2015 no updates.   We are about to update to CRM 2016 with  office 2013.  We are using SSC (server side sync)

    Hi Ray,

If the user has clicked "send" in CRM, there is still a chance that you might have a "silent exception" but in this case the status will NOT be "Draft". It will be either "Pending Send" or "Failed" and I have even seen "Sending" in some weird cases.

If the user has clicked send in Outlook, then the message will no longer be in Drafts but in the Outbox or Sent Items.

I cannot think of any senario where a user clicks Send, does not see any error popup and the email still remails in a Draft state.

    HTH!

    Ray,

I have seen the similar thing happen in my personal Outlook account. While I don't think it is related to the CRM integration, I can't quite pin it down either, although I am leaning in the direction of it being Outlook. In my case I have seen it go both ways. A draft still lives on but the email has gone out. Or the draft is present but it didn't send. In these cases I check the Sent folder. It it is there I delete it, if it isn't I send it.

Good to hear I am not the only one seeing this crazy situation which only started happening about 6 months ago. BTW, I am on Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 with the CRM 2016 add in. I am not using SSS.
