How to remove $ symbols from Trial Balance Summary Report.

Hi Tech Experts,

I need your expert suggestion for removing the $ symbol from beginning balance, debit, credit ,net change ,ending balance field from Trial Balance Summary Report.

I tried removing the dollar from currency setup for usd which served the purpose but we need the currency symbol setup as well.

You will have to do this in Report Writer.

1) Run the report and click Modify

2) In the Report Layout window, double-click on the Total Debits field to open the Report Field Options window

3) Click the None button to remove the current format

4) IF you still want the decimal places to show 2 decimals, click on the ellipses button [...] next to the Format prompt and locate the DLR11_U2 format

Save the modified report and exit Report Writer. You will now need to assign security to the modified report and test once more.

standard trial balance using functional currency symbol

If you want to remove the dollar symbol in the report without any coding or customization elements then you can easily change the currency symbol

Go to : Administration >> Setup >> System >> Currency

to see what Functional Currency : Financial >> Setup >> Financial >> Multicurrency

Hi Mariano,

The proposed solution did not work, I went to the report modifier window but did not find any field like Total Debits. Below is the screenshot of how the report looks in modifier window.

I got the report field option window when I clicked on Beginning Balance field and set the current format to None and tried running the report but it did not remove the dollar symbol.

We are already using this modified report do I still need to given any security rights?

Hi,

Here's what I think you may need to do to follow Mariano's suggestion.

1. Open the modified report in Report Writer

2. Highlight each of the dollar fields you want to change. Don't skip any, they all need to be changed.

3. Double click on them

4. Select the None button next to the format option window

5. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE, select DLR11_U2 in the format field under the visibility field.

Here's a screenshot that may help

If you are already using a modified report, you shouldn't have to change the security. It wouldn't hurt to check in the event that you might be using an Alternate report.
