Exporting Contacts

Posted on by

I am running CRM 2011. I run a query on contacts and get a list of records back. Then click on the export option and answer a couple of questions about type of worksheet and retaining column headings. Then I click export and the dialog box simply disappears. No prompt (what I'm used to when exporting) for name of the exported and or desired destination folder. Because the dialog disappears so quickly it feels like nothing happened.

Tried searching the default folder for downloads but nothing there.

What am I doing wrong or where is the exported file?

Thanks in advanced

Luke

Problem turns to be an incompatibility with Chrome and CRM2011. Working on a patch now. Problem resolved.

    Hi

Thanks for the replies. Did do some more testing and had mixed inclusive results but with IE11 was able to get the appropriate prompts and complete the process. Thing is, IE11 is very unusable these days because of other problems with it's interaction with CRM.

All results points to either an incompatibility (bug) between Chrome and CRM or specific configuration within the browser such as pop blocker (the obvious one) and approved sites etc.

Got someone looking in to that but if someone out there has Chrome working with CRM2011, I'd like to know.

You can try one thing ..Open new excel file and save it...it will ask you for save location..i hope the same folder has your Exported file from CRM also.

    Hi Luke,

Try doing it on a different browser. it has happened with me as well. But switching browser works. Also, try clearing your cache.
