Question about querying data from BC

Hello, I'm trying to create a custom PBI report from our Business Central data. My question is this, when I query the Trial Balance data, it gives me the date that I queried the page, but nothing else regarding date; does this mean that it is giving me data only on that day or is this a cumulative amount from, say, the beginning of the year? Or how can I tell at what point the data I'm querying is starting from? Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

To create such a PBI report, I would not query that page, but use the accounts and general ledger entries apis, inthe Financials api folder.

Then you get all the data, create a star schema, add a date table and query it how you want to.

    hi

When you query the Trial Balance data in Business Central, it will give you a snapshot of the data as of the date you queried the page. It will not give you a cumulative amount from the beginning of the year unless you specify a date range in your query.

To see the date range of the data you're querying, you can check the filters that are being applied to the page. In the Trial Balance page, click on the "Filter" button on the ribbon to see the current filters. You should see a "Date Filter" that specifies the date range of the data being displayed. If there is no date range specified, then the data is only for the date you queried the page.

If you want to see the cumulative amounts from the beginning of the year, you can change the date range filter to start from the beginning of the year. This will give you a snapshot of the data as of that date, but for the entire year up until that date.

Alternatively, you can use the "G/L Balance by Period" report in Business Central to see the cumulative amounts for each period in the year. This report will show you the balances for each period in the year, so you can see how they have accumulated over time
