How do you copy company settings from Live to Test?

I did a SQL restore from one system of GP to my local GP.  I ran the script to change the IDs and such.  The data came over, but the company settings did not.

Looks like the only settings that didn't come over were the Options in Company Setup.  All of the other settings, SOP, POP, etc, came over in the restore.

 What am I missing?

Thanks

When I restore on of my test systems (yes I have a lot of them) I do the following:

Get a backup of all Dynamics databases (Dynamics, all company databases, and even the demo company) from a point in time where they are all in sync together. (Last nights backup, or a special backup I make right at that point in time of all of them).

Then I restore all the databases (Dynamics, all company databases, and even the demo company) to my test server.

I have been doing this for years and it has never failed me yet. (knock on wood) :)

Note: If you want users from the other system to be able to login to this one then you will need to login in as sa can change all the users passwords because of the way Dynamics handles user passwords. But for that you can read this post which links to several other post depending on how much detail you want.

    till later,

    K is correct.

The Company Settings ar in the SY01500 table in the DYNAMICS database. Another very important field in that table is the Note Index field (NOTINDX). This field stores the next note number that is used for that particular company. If this number is not correct and it allows numbers to be reused, your notes will be cross-linked and you will have a mess on your hands.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

My guess is then that this information is stored in the DYNAMICS..SY01500 Table then.  Check it out in SQL.  You might have to also restore Dynamics

The only settings that did not come over were the ones from Company Setup / Options.

ex use shipping method when selecting default tax schedule.

All of the other settings came over fine, just not in the one screen I mentioned.

Well there are some settings in the DYNAMICS database, but those typically do with Tools Setup System.  But Your Tools Setup Company settings should have come over (fiscal periods, account format, shipping methods, etc..).  Can you specifically say which settings were missing?
