Insurance Companies

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I'm just wondering if there are any insurance companies out there using GP.  I am struggling to find a way to link premiums and claims together, but I'm sure there's a way to do it.  Is anyone using GP to do this currently?

I realize this is more than a year and a half ago, but I happen to be working with insurance agencies and would love to see the case study as well. Is there somewhere I can download it?

I would like a case study as well Richard.   We are looking to migrate off some existing systems to GP and if CRM can help us do that then I would love to present that information to our CIO.

    Many Thanks!

    Here is their initial response.

CRM's customer service module is much better suited to track insurance claims than GP with Extender. The case managements functionalities in Dynamics CRM allow for all associated information to be linked to each claim.  This way all information and reports can viewed and reported as the users see fit.

I can get you a Microsoft case study if you would like.  CRM is very prevalent in the insurance industry.

Let me check with the CRM side of our company. They do this kind of stuff all the time. I know they basically mold CRM to do almost anything and then you have to define the touch points between CRM and GP. I just began working on another project where will be getting the GP side in place first and then along will come CRM.

Great suggestion Richard!  How do you suggest we incorporate CRM to the equation?

Extender would be an excellent choice but you might want to think about adding MS Dynamics CRM to the equation. Either way you are going to need to create new screens that can accommodate non-accounting information and then link them back to clients and invoices.

    Hi Steph -

I work for an Insurance Company and we're using Dynamics GP for our accounting system.   We too are looking to bring the insurance side into GP and we're looking into possibly building Extender windows to help with some of the challenges like linking premiums and claims together.  eOne's Extender Enterprise is one option we're currently looking into using.
