Email didn't sync into CRM using email router, rejected "NoCorrelationMatch"

Hi everyone,

Thank you for helping in advance!

I'm currently using CRM 2015 on premise and email router for processing email.

However, I found occasionally, few incoming emails didn't sync into CRM. looking into the log of email router, even with highest detail level, there is only one line addressing the email was rejected due to the reason of "NoCorrelationMatch"

the email was sent to a team, along with other emails, but not all emails got this issue. The system setting under configure email correlation checked "use correlation" but neither of the two method(smart matching & token) were checked.

So how will CRM act when neither of the correlation methods are selected? What could be other potential reasons for the "NoCorrelationMatch"?
