RSAT error "Keyset does not exist", how can you fix? Certificate, Thumbprint

Hello everyone,

Last week, I configured RSAT and was successful in running a test case in my environment. After I restarted my computer, I was no longer able to run a test case. I was receiving errors on my settings that my /Hostname and SOAP hostname incorrect/

I removed my certificate and pfx file and downloaded a new .zip certificate from LCS. I installed my certifcate first, and then pfx to my local machine.

Now when I test connection on RSAT to my environment, I receive an error that /Keyset does not exist/. Sometimes I will be able to launch microsoft edge, as if it is working, it loads my D365 environment, but then fails and I receive my original error /Hostname and SOAP hostname incorrect/

What is the solution to this? Please recommend and I will try.

Hi Peter,

I have not seen this issue before. This is new to me. Do you have the same issue on another computer? Can you share a screenshot with the literal error?

Depending on the problem you described, it seems that there may be a problem with your configuration of the Hostname and SOAP Hostname. However, given that you successfully ran the test case the first time, the error occurred after restarting the computer, which is episodic, so it is not possible to determine the specific problem. You can check your configuration first, refer to the screenshot below, and then provide more information, including steps or screenshots, to help us further troubleshoot your additional problems.

Hi Andre,

I have not yet tested on another computer, but here is the screenshot I get when I try to test the connection for the "Finance and Operations Test Environment"

Previously, I was able to have my test environment open up and generate - logged into the correct legal entity and my admin account - however I am now only getting this "Keyset does not exist" error.

I have not yet tested this on another computer - I am going to try that later today and I will report back with the results.

Thank you for your reply.

Some information - our test environment is hosted and maintained by Microsoft (no Remote desktop) so this means 2 things for us

The Hostname and SOAP hostname will be the same

Additionally, it means we cannot generate our own RSAT Certificate (thumbprint) and we must download one from LCS

Some additional info - We did just recently upgrade our environment to 10.0.33 on Thursday, June 22nd. I am not aware of any other changes, previous to this in our environment that could have caused an issue, such as preliminary examinations or configurations in our environment. I have spoke with the dev team, and besides this upgrade to 10.0.33, there were no changes in our environment leading up to this.

More additional info - I did have multiple certificates installed on the computer - self generated and LCS generated - however, like I said, I was able to run and upload the test results to ADO. It was after I restarted my computer I started to encounter issues.
