SQL Server Error while importing customization

Hi, we have CRM 4.0. I exported the customization from Dev, and was trying to import it to QA, but I got this error:

Failure: contact: A SQL Server error occurred.

Everything works fine in Dev, so what should I do to fix this problem? Thanks

have a look at the eventviewer on the CRM server to see if there is a more detailed error message

if there are a lot of customizations then it could be a timeout

    support.microsoft.com/.../en-us

but there could be a problem with customizations you are importing, maybe similar to this forum post

    social.microsoft.com/.../error-while-importing-entity-getting-sql-server-error-in-crm-40

my first step would be to check the event viewer to check for more details

Hi Ben, thanks. I asked the QA guy who imported the customization to check the event viewer and he said nothing in the event logs., it goes from MSDTC Client 2 to MSI installer.

I did find an attritube that has the same name in both Dev and QA, but with different type. So I changed the type of this attribute in Dev to be the same as in QA and exported it again, but they are still getting the error message,

    Hi

Make sure that your SQL server on the QA environment is not out of disk space - both for the DATA & LOG files.

You should be able to look at the SQL error log (SSMS: Management -> SQL Server Logs -> Current)

You can also fire up SQL Profiler and look for any error events as you try and do the import against that database.
