Service Update 10.0.38 Upgrade failing with 25th step

Hi,
I upgraded the env to 10.0.35 to 10.0.38 on cloud hosted environment, while upgrading, it is failing with step 25 :GlobalUpdate script for service model: AOSService on machine

I tried full DB Sync , full build from visual studio but still the problem is same, could not find proper error details in logs too.

How I can resolve these errors .

I think you have problem when synchronize your DB.

can you please provide us with the list of errors when you make the synchro ?

Hi Community member,

We need to see the error you are getting so please check the log.

Few things to try in general that might work:

1. Terminate Visual studio

2. Start AOS Service

3. Click resume and try again

As everyone said, you need to check the relevant log information. The "GlobalUpdate script of service model: AOSService" message is generally a database synchronization problem. You can check this document. Hi,

After your full build try starting your Dynamics 365 Unified Operations: Batch Management Service and if its not restarting then there are errors in your environment that you are looking to upgrade.

Suggestions:

1. Is the Full Build complete? Did it complete without errors?

2. DB Sync is completed with no errors?

3. Visual studio process devenv.exe is not running. Check that too.

4. Also, ensure there are no application instances are open too.

There should be problem with your dev box database. Please do DB sync and make sure you don't have any issues.

Please download log from LCS and check details of error why it stopped new version deployment

I can confirm what the original poster is seeing here. The upgrade (In my case from 10.041 to 42,43, or 44) fails on step 25.

However, there is no log file for step 25 which is what I think the poster meant when they said "... could not find proper error details in logs too."

I was able to get past this by following some suggestions in this thread:

Ensure VS 2022 is fully upgraded.

If you had to upgrade VS 2022, uninstall D365 F&O extension

Re-install extension from K:\DeployablePackages\[ID]\DevToolsService\Scripts\Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Tools.Installer.17.0

Full compile of ALL modules

DB Sync

Restart environment

'Resume' upgrade

I'm not sure if step 1 had anything to do with the success, however, I would recommend doing it anyway.
