Hey everyone,
Sorry if this is an easy one but I just can't remember.
I have Inventory items set up with 3 quantity decimal places and too many users are having issues entering whole numbers into transactions. They enter 1 and then post without checking and we end up with .001.
Is there a way to default the focus to the whole number and force the '.' if we need fractions entered?

Thanks for the suggestions Justin,
This works well with SOP and POP but not so much in INV BOM when overriding the stock quantity.
I have found that without customization, the only option is to adjust the UofM for the item and Quantity decimal places.

Hi Jason,
Navigate to: Cards - Inventory - Price List. Then pull up the item and click on the "Options" button. Here you can set the selling option to "Whole".
If you want to do the same for the purchasing side of things navigate to: Cards - Inventory - Item Purchasing Options.
==================================
These options will throw up a warning if someone enters a .01 for example. It won't default as you want (I enter 1 and tab, it would register as 1.000.).
If someone does actually want to enter a fractional amount, then someone will need to temporarily change these options while they enter the Sales or Purchasing document.
Thanks,
Justin
Thank you for the response Deanne, I wish it was that easy. Basically I am looking to see if there is a way to focus the data entry to the whole number spot instead of defaulting to thousands digit. Example:
I enter 1 and tab, it would register as 1.000.
Right now, I enter 1 and tab and it registers as 0.001.
This would force users who need to enter a partial to enter .001.
Worst case scenario would be change all of these items quantity decimal places to 0. There are over 2500 of them that are setup with 3 decimal places and 99.9% of the transactions are whole numbers.
Can you change this under inventory setup? Inventory control?
