MRP regeneration 500% longer execution time since GP10 SP5

Posted on by 1,110

Hi everyone,

I've noticed a significant change in execution time of the MRP regeneration process since we've updated to GP10 SP5. The process normally ran for 2 minutes and now takes 11 minutes to complete. This change was immediately after the update, so I kind of drilled into this issue.

The only thing I've found in relation to this, is the fact that since GP10 SP5, they've come up with the notion of "DateSequenceNumber" specific quantities. What I mean by that, is GP now considers a qty of a item/lot combination that has a past as an entity and distinguishes these qtys by adding a DateSequenceNumber to each.

In our use of GP, this multiplies by dozens the number of item/lot/datesequence we will find in IV00300.

Anyone have a clue as to what can be done to reduce execution time of MRP regeneration?

Thanks,
Jason
