Debug in Cloud Hosted environment

Hi Experts,

Got a couple of question regarding debugging in cloud hosted environment:

When I tried to attach the process - there are multiple W3WP.exe processes, not sure which one I should use.

In the cloud hosted environment, I use company AAD account to access the URL, for example: qql23203aos.cloudax.dynamics.com. But when I access the VM, I use local admin account, is that okay?

You normally shouldn't attach to IIS, because when Visual Studio is running IIS Express (iisexpress.exe) is used instead.

Yes, you use a local account (as defined in LCS) to access the VM, but it's not related to users in F&O. There you need to use an AAD account registered as a user in F&O.

But I could not find IIS Express process even I chose for all users' process.

If you see many w3wp.exe processes, attach to the one that is running under NETWORK SERVICE (you can also just try all of them in a couple of minutes to find out yourself). If you see iisexpress.exe you should attach to that.

And yes, the account that you use to access D365 doesn't have impact in the debugging user.

Thanks Nikolaos, looks like because the cloud hosted environment is Demo topology, hence only W3WP.exe is available.
