Hi. I use Microsoft Dynamics RMS and I’ve been having an issue with recalling a layaway. It keeps coming up as Run-time error ‘91’: object variable or with block variable not set. Any help on how to fix this?

Hi there! Good morning, evening, or afternoon - depending on where you are :) Hope you are well today!

The Run-time error '91: Object variable or With block variable not set typically occurs when there’s an issue with how the RMS system is handling the layaway recall process. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

    1. Verify Layaway Data Integrity
    • Check the layaway data in the RMS database to ensure there are no missing or corrupted records.
    • Use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to query the layaway table and confirm that all required fields are populated correctly.
    2. Check Customer and Transaction Links
    • Ensure that the layaway transaction is correctly linked to a valid customer account.
    • If the customer account associated with the layaway has been deleted or modified, it could cause this error
    3. Update RMS to the Latest Version
    • If you’re not already using the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics RMS, consider updating to ensure compatibility and bug fixes.
    4. Debug the Code (If Customizations Exist)
    • If your RMS system has customizations, review the code handling the layaway recall process.
    • Look for any missing object references or improperly initialized variables in the code.
    5. Recreate the Layaway
    • If the issue persists, try recreating the layaway transaction.
    • Delete the problematic layaway and create a new one to see if the error is resolved.

    Hope this helps!

Hi, I have moved your question from the General forum to the SMB forum that supports RMS, hope you don't mind.
Usually you get more concrete answers in the specialized forums

This doesn't seem to be a BC problem. Please post to the correct forum next time.

    Thanks.

RMS is in the title of the forum. I do apologize if I have moved this question to a wrong forum.
