Change Item Tracking Option from Serial Number to None

Hi,

I would like to change the tracking option in GP from Serial Number to None. I'm wondering if the back order has anything to do with it. As you can tell in the image, the drop down menu is not available. Thank you.

I have a version of the test database and it allows me to change the tracking option.

Also, both companies (live and test) have open transactions relating to this particular item.

    Hi,

If the item has any quantity, or is included on any document not in the History table, then you cannot change the tracking option (Serial Number or Lot Number). What you have to do is remove it from any Open documents and then take the quantity to zero. Once the qty is zero, you will be able to change the tracking option. If you have any quantity in inventory, then you also have a serial number for each quantity, you will need to zero those out in order to move forward without serial numbers.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
