Debug-> Test Mode Not Showing Erro

Hi,

I am using GP version 10.0 (SP5). I got a customized dictionary file from an ex-resource. While I setup and open the resources from Dexterity it works and I am able to create new resources (tables, forms etc).

However, when I enter into Test Mode, it opens GP 9 (9.00.0259) login screen and when I put user id and password and click login it shows error "You are using an earlier version of Dynamics.dic than the one that's currently installed on the network". I also checked that in my Dex.ini, entry for Dictionary Version is showing as

Dictionary Version=9.00.0259

Even if I change the dictionary version to 10, it automatically updates this entry again back to 9.00.0259

Can anyone help me out to resolve this issue as I have to develop and test new screens.

Regards,

Waliullah

Install Dexterity 9 and open the development dictionary in Dex 9 then go to test mode to test your customization.

I surely guess your development dictionary is GP 9 not GP 10. For this case whenever you go to test mode it will shows only the currently dictionary version(GP 9) even though you have opened the development dictionary from the dexterity version 10.

    Please double check and confirm.

    Hope this helps!!!

I guess you have opened the development dictionary in GP 9.

To resolve this follow below steps.

    1. Copy Dex.ini file from Data folder under your GP 10 installation location and paste this file to Data folder under your Dexterity 10 Installation location.

Note: Make sure you have a back up of the Dex.ini file from Data folder under your Dexterity 10 Installation location.

    2. Go to Dexterity 10 Installation folder and open the file Dex.exe.

    3. In Dexterity, go to File-->Open Dictionary-->Existing Dictionary to open your development dictionary file.

    4. Compile all and synchronize(go to Utilities-->Synchronize) your dictionary and check again.

    Hope this helps!!!
