Help adding a table to Crystal Report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 525

I am trying to resolve an issue that is addressed in KB 942096.

However, I am having difficulity when I am trying to add a table to my Crystal report file.

Per the Kb article: "In the Available Data Sources box, select the table that you want to add to the report, click the right arrow button to add the table to the Selected Tables box, and then click OK."

The problem is that there are no tables listed under the Available Data Sources box. I then went to Create new connection - > ODBC (RDO) -> Make new connection

I have selected the Application database, entered SA for the user and trusted connection. This is what is listed under the properteies for the "selected" table that is already part of the report.

The connection is created, however I can not navigate to any of my tables. I only see DBO (with dmg_masterpassword under this entry), INFORMAITON_SCHEMA, and SYS.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get to these tables?

 Thanks!

Right mouse click on DBO and select "Options". Make sure Tables is selected under Data Explorer. Then right mouse click on DBO and select "Refresh". See if you can see tables now.

We had this problem in the Crystal designer before. We had to do as Kai suggested above, however we also had to deselect the Stored Procedures.

    Thanks for the tip!

I can now see the tables and can add them to the report.
