Ledger transaction list report shows "No Data Available"

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

When I run the LedgertransactionList report and give the appropriate date intervals, it returns a message "No data available". I can see in the LedgerJournalTrans table that journals for those date ranges do exist. I also verified the report server and other configuration, and so I am not able to figure out as to why I am not able to see the data.

As you can see from the form there are lines for 7/1/2017, and I verified that they are written in the LedgerJournalTrans table as well.

But when I run the report for the same date;

Any thoughts on this?

    Hello Lohit,

What parameter options did you select when running the Report?

Did you possibly apply some filters that prevent AX from showing any data?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hey Ludwig,

The only parameters I put are from and to date. Is there something else that I need to mention?

I haven't applied any filters willingly, where can i check to see if there are any filters? at the table level?

    Hi Lohit,

Do you have any other transactions posted?

What is you run the ledger transaction list report for a larger date interval such as 2015-2017?

If you hit the select button and then chose 'reset' before you run the Report again, does AX show you something in the report?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hey Ludwig,

    thanks for your quick responses!

I do have other transactions posted but they are from a data migration from 2009. The two transactions in the screenshot are the ones created and posted in 2012. i tried different intervals but always end up with the same message "no data":

I am assuming select and reset will remove all filters, if any? I just tried it but unfortunately no data.

Is there something I can try with the report server? I created a dedicated SSRS report server for our test system, after I recently found out that 2012 requires dedicated report server for each instance.

    Hi Lohit,

You can try restarting the report server and possibly re-deploying the reports.

I am wondering if any other ledger report is showing some data. Have you tried for example running the balance list report or the summary Trial Balance report?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Okay, I'll try restarting the report server and re-deploying the reports. I havent tried any other report either, so  i guess thats a good test, thanks.

I have come across this other post (link below) with I think a similar problem where he mentioned in the post "In AX the temporary tables are  filled correctly but on the report nothing or the message "No data available" is shown".

Should we be able to see the data in temporary tables? in this case "LedgertransactionListTmp" table? Because that shows as empty for me everytime I open it. so probably the data isnt being written to it?

I did try the balance list report and it displays data just fine.

When i restarted the ssrs service and redeployed the report and tried to run it, I get this error:

"Error while setting server report parameters. Error message: The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter ‘AX_CompanyName’ contains an error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.EnvironmentPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)".

    Hi Lohit,

Can you try running the report once again and check the following post?

It only errors out sometimes and so I am going to try to resolve that error using the post you mentioned. Thanks a lot.

But I figured out the problem. It was due to some changes I made to the report. I added two fields to the report "PurchName" and "Invoice Account" which belong to the Purchtable. I added the table to the LedgertransList query and added code to the createReportData method in "LedgerTransListReportHelper" class. I should have mentioned it earlier sorry about that.

The moment I removed the code, the data displayed correctly. So i assume I have done something wrong with joins or relations. Is there any other way to display data related to these fields without using the purchTable?

    Hello Lohit,

The ledger transaction list is probably not the best one to include the purchName and invoice account fields as they only refer to purchase transactions and your ledger transactions might differ from that.

    Hint:

Can you search for the 'transaction origin' report that is available under the reconciliation node.

Try to run this report with different parameter settings for ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc.

Maybe that report includes what you are looking for?!

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
