Hi There,

We have a situation where fiscal year attached on a ledger setup is from July to June and we need to generate TB for April to March. i.e, across the two fiscal years.

Can anyone guide me how can we do that via MR or any other work around.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Yash,

The standard trial balance online form or report only works for data within a single year.

What you can do is quickly creating a financial report that you call trial balance and that crosses all of the periods you want to include in the report.

There is even a standard trial balance report available from MS in the financial report designer where you can 'borrow' (copy) from.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thanks for the quick response..!

Can you guide me on how to manage two fiscal year period in a single Trial balance report? as an illustration, my fiscal period is July 21 to June 22 but I want TB data from April 21 to March 22.

If you can suggest what changes I need to do in the standard trial balance report? that would be a great help.

    Hi,

Here is a quick example from the MS demo company USMF

Step 1: Create a new report

Step 2: Ensure that the lines include all of your accounts

    4721.lines.png

(There is a quick insert available under edit / insert rows from dimensions...)

Step 3: Select a standard column definition (that's what I did) or create your own

Run the report for periods that include data

You can define the columns in the way you want.

As a result, you see the data for multiple years.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks, Ludwig

I have copied the standard trial balance summary report available and amend the column definition to get the data for below mentioned period:

    From Date: 04/01/2021

    To Date: 03/31/2022

Please note fiscal year for the system is (07/01/2020 to 06/30/2021) and TB range is between two fiscal years i.e, 2020-21 and 2021-22.

And for now, as we have a limited amount of data available I believe the MR report is giving the correct figures. I will let you know in case if there is something further to ask :)

    Thanks,

    Yash
