Management Reporter - Report Designer - Report Definition - Sub Folders

Hello All

I just recently got access to this forum, so Hi! Nice to meet you.

We are currently upgrading from GP 10 to GP 2015 (hoo boy, I know) and I am spearheading an effort to force organization on our reports/rows/columns/trees while we get everything migrated from FRx.

Currently I have it set up like this:

- Report Definitions (default folder / root)

- Approved Reports

- Sandbox

- Migrated Reports

- Trash Bin

We would like to have a few additional sub folders under Approved Reports; but whenever I create a new folder it creates it under the root, and no amount of moving it can get it under the approved reports.

Am I doing something obviously wrong, or is this really by design?

    Hi Peter,

I don't suppose you got a resolution to this problem as I am having the same issue.

    Thanks

The only place I have seen to add sub-folders is in the report viewer/library.  I have not been able to create sub-folders in the report designer.

Yes that's the same as myself, they work fine in the Library. I guess that the report designer is just not programmed to work in this way.

I am also having this same issue.  I can Move reports in Designer, but not Folders.  The Move option is greyed out when I try to move a folder.  Is this a bug, perhaps?  The version I'm having the issue on is 2.12.14001.45.

Open MR Report Viewer (not designer).  Setup your folders.

If you need to move a folder, right click and select move.  A separate window will appear and you can select where in the folder structure you wish to move.

The client wants to have different folders for her report definitions in the Designer, their library in Viewer is set up fine.  Is this not an option in Designer, to have multiple subfolders under Report Definitions?

You can create multiple folders and subfolder under Report Definition and the library right click on each folder you will see the option. I currently have BS folder with different subfolder  for each business unit, and the same in the library

It is only creating subfolders under another subfolder, so this must be a bug.  The option to Move is greyed out on all folders in my version as well as the client's version.  We are not able to move the folders up a level.

Note that we can create the folders with no problem, they are just down under another subfolder and not at the main level where the client wants them.

    What version are you on?

Is your account setup as an administrator?

version 2.12.14001.45.  I am set up as an Admin, and the client is as well.
