Sales Quotation Pricing

(0) ShareShare

we have the following scenario

when we receive the customer inquiry we send it to our supplier (RFQ) and when we receive the supplier offer we create a quotation to the customer based on this equation (unit price = supplier price +supplier price*margin%)

the margin may be on the header level or in line level  and this margin is different from quotation to quotation

how can we achieve that on dynamics 365 for Operation ?

    Hi Magdy,

There is no link between a vendor price and a sales price. A markup margin field is not within the standard features. You have to calculate the sales price manually or consider a customization for this requirement.

    thanks Andre

so we need to customize a solution for that , can we use the trade agreement (convert the RFQ to trade agreement) and use it when we are going to create the sales quotation (we will use the supplier prices to be the item cost)

The item master can calculate a sales price based on margin mark up  or contribution, and also update that to a trade agreement,  but how often are you going to update it,   and how many quotes will reference it before its changed etc.

for more on this see http://dynamicsteaching.com/determining-sales-price-based-on-purchasecost-price-for-a-product-in-ax-2012/ and http://info.zedit.com/blog/pricing-options-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax

For a good background on Trade agreements etc  see Tim's 3 part blog series https://timsaxblog.wordpress.com/2015/10/04/sales-price-in-ax-2012-r3/

You might use an Excel /Dixf routine if you can get vendors to supply you quotes in Excel format against your item codes. its then easy to update your target margin in Excel.

    Some related points:

After a sales order is created from a quote, to make some additional changes such as delivery date, warehouse, whatever. When making changes to the sales order header, AX  also proposes to update the prices as the default setting and unless you specify that you want to 'Keep all' prices, you get the prices from your price/discount agreements instead (which might be zero).

Promoting a quotation to sales order does not automatically update the prices.
