Why in Released Product grid we cannot insert column for Tracking Dim and Storage Dim ?

Hi guys,

In Released Product main screen, why there is no selection of Tracking Dimension Group and Storage Dimension Group in Insert Column pop up ?

I find it strange, even Product Dimension Group which is on Product level appeared. In the screen shot above, the selection field for /Insert columns/, I already filter to field /contain/ word group. And you can trust me, the list end with Supplementary item group over there at the bottom. Obviously I tried to filter the field by word begin with Tracking or Storage, none appeared in the list.

Is there any reason ?

My intention is to check my product list, I know I download (export) the data, but the intention is to show user as well.

May I know how to display it then (without customization) ?

Hi Ken,

I think the insert column grid will show fields only if the particular DataSource link type is specifically set to Outer join.

Also, I don't think using customization also this is not possible, because you cannot change link type of the standard DataSource.

You can only insert columns that are part of the data source that exists on the form. Storage / Tracking dimension groups are not part of the data source for released products list page, they are populated to the form via code. Your least bad option without customization is using the advanced filter to join from Items to "Items - storage dimension groups" then to "Storage dimension groups", repeat for tracking dimension groups. Then the user can add criteria on which storage / tracking dimension group they want to filter by.

Alternatively, you can allow the user access to the storage / tracking dimension group setup form, and they can use the "Related items" button to get a list of released products that use that group.

To view the storage dimension group of all items in a grid, you can also use the form "Item coverage" in the master planning module (setup).

It is a limitation of the form I am afraid.

The same we could say for Financial Dimensions that cannot be added on the grid.

No idea why it was applied a design with this limiting logic.
