Hi,
I have an IBM cash register system with cash drawer, pos display and 4610 sure mark printer. The computer is running pos ready 2009 and has the IBM opos drivers installed. I am able to test the devices in ibms opos application, but I can't get it to work in Microsoft dynamics rms. The devices are connected through ibms I/O rs485 ports.

I have an opos program installed and the keyboard tests great.
The keyboard is an IBM retail pos keyboard with rs485 interface.
Heres a picture of it.

I need to get it working with the rms application. Does it even support a kind of opos keyboard like this?
I tried calling IBM but I got nowhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You can download the most recent IBM UPOS package here:
www2.clearlake.ibm.com/.../odriversdl.html
Install OPOS on each register. The installation will ask about your keyboard and how it is connected..
Hello Charles,
If you are having issues configuring macros for your keyboard, please contact IBM.
Yes, it does have the msr. What about the keys. How can I type numbers. Currently when I try to press the number keys they do not do anything. I know in the tender types screen, you can enter a scan code for a certain key (EX. Cash tender button key. Which scan code is 4e as configured in the ibm keyboard configuration file) , but I can't get that to work.
Hello Charles,
Thank you for the update.
Keyboards do not need configuration.
Does the keyboard have a built-in card swiper? The card swiper would be configured as an MSR.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
It worked finally. Wow how exciting. Thanks.
One last question. I have and IBM retail keyboard. How do I configure that?
Hello Charles,
I understand that you have some OPOS devices that you would like to use in RMS.
The OPOS devices should have a Device Name assigned to them in their OPOS configuration software. If you are unsure of what the device names are for these peripherals, please contact the OEM.
To configure the devices in RMS:
1. Log into Store Operations Manager
2. Click on Database | Registers | Register List
3. Select your register, click Properties
4. Here you will find tabs for each kind of device that can be configured in RMS. Click the tab for the device you want to configure. Enter the OPOS Device Name for the device. In the case of Receipt Printers, select the OPOS Printer Type.
Let us know if that helps or if you have any other questions.
