Sales Transaction Posted In Wrong Period

So we have three freight rebates, where the invoices in GP show 12/31/17, however, they posted to the GL on 01/23/18.  Is there any reason why this would have posted on the 01/23/18 date and not 12/31/17? Did the date shipped need to be changed to 12/31/17 as well? The period for 2017 was open at the time if this helps.

    Hi CMolinaro,

    i guess the only logical explanation that the invoice transaction was created with the date of 12/31/17 and it was posted on date 01/23/18 so when it went to the GL it captures the current date when the invoice was posted (not the invoice date).

    so i think that's why you will have two different dates regarding the module and the GL.

    Please go to Tools->Setup_>Posting->Posting and select Sales as the series and then Sales Transaction. I am sure you will see it to post by batch date not posting date.  The date on the batch was either 01/23/18 or someone changed the trx date date on the ledger entries created prior to posting. You can check to see if you only post to the ledger and not through the ledger.
