Hi Microsoft community
I have Sales Order ( SO )  with Item A , quantity ordered large than available quantity in inventory.
Request ship date & request receipt date is 2024/12/24. Status in InventTrans is On Order.
In 2025/05/28 I created planned purchase order (PPO) of item A with delivery date & order date is 2025/05/28.
I firm PPO . That Purchase Order in All Purchase Order after firm in PPO, approval have status Approved.
After that I check status in InventTrans is still On Order , why it not changed to Reserved Ordered.

I try create SO with item B ,
quantity ordered large than available quantity in inventory.
Request ship date & request receipt date is 2025/06/18. Status in InventTrans is On Order.
And created PPO with delivery date & order date is 2025/06/18 too. That Purchase Order in All Purchase Order after firm in PPO , approval have status Approved.
But status can changed from On Order to Reserved Ordered.

Please help me answer why item A cannot auto change status , and item B can do that. If it have a config about due time or something, please tell me where is it.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi Tu Le,

This can be related to settings or other inventory transactions for item A. Have you verified if there are other open orders for item A?

    can you check following-

    1. Coverage group attached to both items and coverage time fence in each of them
    2. Reservation for each item defined on item model group whether it is automatic or manual
    3. Go to net requirement of each item and check whether it shows Pegging link from PO to SO
