Bar code not printing

Hi Experts,

We are using AX 2012 R3 CU10 and SSRS for reports with multi-box environment.

We are facing an issue where Bar codes are properly visible in the screen and also when viewed in PDF format. But, when we give the PDF file for printer, Bar codes are not printed properly.

I am not sure whether we miss any settings.

Thanks,

N.Sridhar

Are you saying that you have a PDF file that's shown correctly on screen, but not printed correctly on paper? In other words, it's not much related to Dynamics AX, right?

It suggests that the PDF uses a font for barcodes that the printer doesn't know (and it isn't embedded in the PDF file).

    Hi Martin,

Yes, Bar codes are shown in PDF file on screen correctly, but not printed correctly on paper.

We are using font "BC C39 2 to 1 Narrow".

I wonder do we need to have any specific font to print in printer.

    Regards,

    N.Sridhar

Hallo there! Have you resolved this issue? I'm having the same problem with the same BC C39 Narrow font. It's installed on every machine involved.

Wondering, if the font itself could be the problem?

Please ensure you have the necessary fonts, please see the following article for fonts

    blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../ax-for-retail-barcode-font-printing-issues

After some experimentation I can confirm that I was missing the fonts from the SSRS server and in order for them to take affect I needed to load them in Control Panel/Fonts and also reboot the SSRS server (not the service).  The AOS already had the fonts and had already gone though a reboot so cannot confirm this but I suggest you also load them on the AOS and reboot the machine, after all Fonts are controlled and made available by the operating system.

    Good luck

Just wanted to add that we finally got it working. The Fonts were present on all Servers (AOS as well as SSRS / SQL). So what we did in the end:

    1) Remove all fonts.

    2) Add them again, through right-click and selecting "Install". They had been added only by copying them into the Fonts Folder.

    3) Reboot all Servers in the following order: SSRS/SQL - AOS 1 through 3.

    4) Voilá - Problem solved.

So, yes, it might have been a sole Problem of rebooting the Servers in the right order. Might have also been the method of installing the Fonts. However, above procedure worked.
