favorites not working after upgrade

Clients have favorites linked to custom exe file. But these links are not working after upgrade to SL 2011 in new server.

One way to fix it is to delete and recreate with external links, but there are many user and this approach is not feasible.

Any advises?

    Plus all folder structure and file name are exactly are same.

    Do this query on the System database and see if you can find the entry that is the favorite.  Look at the data column.

    select * from SLMenuItem where moduleName = 'favorites'
