I am looking to integrate these two systems. Does anyone have any experience with this or recommendations?
Thank you

There are several ways to integrate these systems.
If you have BizTalk there is an adapter for Microsoft CRM 2011 which I think is useable for 2013 as well. Another thing you can do is set up your own service to check for updates and push those to/from CRM using the web services, or you could make an SSIS package and do bulk updates at night.
I recommend that you check out the CRM SDK (available from Microsoft's website), it's got several tips for integrating which can help you out. I don't think many companies have much experience with integrating CRM 2013 yet, so I suggest checking out the SDK and TechNet as well as get tips from the community.
When we talk about integration, it is either real time or offline. Then comes is data flow. whether data flow is from "CRM to SAP" or "SAP to CRM" or both. Check first what type of integration you require.
For integrating/ pushing data to CRM, you'll need to access CRM services & its APIs. Just that if its realtime, these need to be called from SAP or for offline, data can be dumped out from SAP to some medium holding data i.e. file, database etc & custom utility can pick it up to push it to CRM.
