User Interface version 8 versus version 9

Posted on by 20

On page https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/friyanksblog/archive/2018/02/14/what-s-new-in-dynamics-365-crm-v-9-0

you can read "Existing Dynamics 365 users on what is currently called ‘Enterprise Edition’ will have a choice to either use an updated version of the traditional web user interface or apply the new UUI."

Where can I change the setting so that the user sees the interface version 8. The problem I have that the user interface in 9.0 has white space after each line.

Thx in advance for your help.

Hi, Thx. Another question. Do you know when we can use tab pages in Dynamics CRM?

    Hi Andreas,

Yes that is true , but this is looks good and having minimum impact I guess, although you can not reduce this space with any supported way.  You can fix little bit with machine resolution, reduce browser zoom size.

See how does the new Dynamics 365 web client UI make you more productive -

If you have any specific issue with UI , Please share here the screenshot. You can't compare UI 9.o with 8.x as 9.0 released with Unified Interface.

This is expected as they both are 2 different versions.

It looks like my font in 9.0 is different from 8.0

    Hi,

If you already in v9 then you cant get the ui of v8. In v9, preffered option is unified interface which is more convenient and user friendly. Try that.

    hope this helps

Hi Goutam, Thx but that did not solve the problem. I still have white spacing between fields. That was not in 8.0.

    Hi Andreas,

Are you talking about legacy form rendering ? If yes then you can find the options under Settings --> Administration-->System Settings --> Under General Tab --> you can see at the last one options called "Use legacy form rendering".

Use legacy form rendering option is there for organisations who upgraded their system and do not want to do any rework of scripts just yet. You can not see the old 8.1 UI by doing this . It is not recommended to enable in new CRM deployments as the new rendering engine is much faster than the legacy engine and eventually, this option will disappear in future versions.

If you have any specific issues related to UI please share screenshot .
