I have been looking for some information on best practices regarding the 1st party Dynamics 365 Apps and how to best deliver customizations via Managed solutions into production.
Here would be a typical scenario.
- Dev >>> Staging >>> Production environments.
- I have unmanaged solutions in Dev and would like to push managed solutions to staging and production.
- I would like to take advantage of a lot of the functionality of the 1st party apps, Sales Hub, Customer Service Hub, Project Service, Field service, but would also like to customize the applications for the purposes of our clients. It would include modification of forms, views, site map.
Not too long ago that was the only option.
I could build a custom app to reflect the customizations I would want in the app but I'm not sure if that can be done while keeping the functionality of the apps I mentioned above. For some that is not a possibility such as Field Service and Project Service.
My goal is to develop a standard ALM method of delivery for any size of project whether I'm building an app from scratch or customizing a 1st party app.
