How could a company gain the technical/functional knowledge required to be dev-autonomous ?

Hi

Potential client of AX and now 365, our n1 requirement is that we need to be able to modify the product to our needs. Maybe at first we would go through an integrator company for specific developpement but we want to be able to - quickly enough - be able to do dev ourselves.

The dev concerned are about operations and generations of bills for a sale process we have that is close to a deposit sale. All that to say the gap might involve existing objects and tables and probably new ones. (Sorry I do not know how to give you an estimation of the gap's complexity as I am not a 365 expert).

We have few-peoples dev team with senior developers with C#/.NET knowledge and experience but no Dynamics 365 certification or past.

How hard is it to gain a technical/functional knowledge of the product (365 field service) ?
Should we plan training ? Is certified training possible ?
Is a C#/.NET dev able to self train and document himself to be operational in let's say less than 3 months ?
What trainings/documentation/knowledge base do you advice ?

Regards

From developers perspective if they have knowledge about C# and Visual studio they can start with  Following site to get familiar with how to do some things in D365 .

    docs.microsoft.com/.../developer-home-page

As far as training is concerned , If you have access to partner/customer source then they can also start with self practice training  from below link.

    mbspartner.microsoft.com/.../1181

There are some training course organized by Microsoft in Fargo , that training is approx. 2 weeks you can get more information on below link.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../training
