Sharing Power BI reports with AAD group

ReportReport

Hi everyone

This question might belong on a Power BI forum, but I've chosen to publish it here as well because it is related to D365FSC.

Once a Power BI report has been created and published (from a D365FSC environment via LCS) to PowerBI.com, it is created in "My workspace" in PowerBI.com.

From there, the report can be reshared with other users. Is it possible to share the report with AAD groups?

I know that you can give AAD groups access to workspaces for Power BI reports that are published normally, but can you do it for reports that are published from D365FSC to My Workspace?

The reason I ask is that it LOOKS like you can. You can share a report with an AAD group. The problem is though, that once it's shared, no-one in the AAD group can see it. Nor is a notification sent to them when it's shared.

- I've tried with a 'Security'  AAD group, and 'Distribution list' AAD group.

- The report is built on AxDW, using the entity store.

Any help appreciated as always. Thanks

    Hi BrandonSA,

as far as I know it Power BI reports in My workspace can be shared with AAD users. However, Power BI Pro license minimum is required for it, both for sharing and viewing users.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards

Do users in the AAD group have Power BI Pro license? What if you share the report with one Power BI Pro user explicitly, not via a group, does this work?

I agree with you that this question would be best answered in a Power BI forum though...
