Import failing due to duplicates

Hello - I am trying to import contact records through the wizard and I have selected duplicates, but I still get errors on import saying a duplicate email address was found. I have tried turning off duplication rules before import but this doesn't seem to matter. Thoughts?

    Hi,

    Check if you have an alternate key for the email address field. If yes then this is expected i.e. you can't import duplicate email adress record as it will be blocked by sql itself. Read more about alternate keys here-
