The columnar text file attached to Business Alert email was readable in earlier versions of IPADS and IPHONES. In the later versions it is not.
The text file seems to be encoded as UTF-16(LE) this means the first two bytes of the file should be 0xFF 0xFE for best compatibility. As this includes the BOM or byte order marking.
This is not the case for the text file produced from Business Alerts. Hence the issue, not all readers understand the format of the text file.
I have tested by putting the two bytes 0xFF 0xFE at the beginning of the file. It appears normal then. It is GP2010. Is there any way to ensure that the txt file produced from Business Alerts is plain ANSI format 8 bit? Could it be a SQL Mail setting?
