Hosting Cost for MS Dynamics 365 F&O and Dev and Test Instance

Hi All,

I am a bit confused about hosting cost of  MS Dynamics 365 F&O. First I thought it will be entirely free since I am buying license for the users.

However, our implementor informed us that it costs $800 monthly to won Dev, Test, and Production environments.

Also I read somewhere that is is about $150/month for storage and cloud.


Does anyone has the right cost of ownership breakdown for MS Dynamics 365 F&O.

    Hi Sarbast2022,

    Within the subscription of Dynamics 365 F&O, you get a production instance and an acceptance test environment. You can read about it here: Environment planning - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

    More test environments can be purchased within the subscription. Development environments can be deployed on your own, separate Azure subscription. The VM computing and storage of those environments comes with Azure costs. The storage is based on the size, the VM computing based on the VM size and the number of hours  the VM is up and running. You can use the Pricing Calculator to check expected costs for your scenario. 

    You can also consider download a VHD image with a development environment and host it on a Hyper-V server or run it locally on a client machine. This would avoid the Azure costs, but then you need to invest in good hardware to host the VM locally.
