Hello

I am trying to install microsft dynamics NAV 2016 Demo but it gives me this error after installing

"The service 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV90]' (MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90) failed to start."

If I try to run Dynamics NAV it says " The program could not create a connection to the server "

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I also tried installing the Dynamics NAV server only but I still get the same error, I tried disabling the firewall and I still get the same error.

Can you help me please ?

    Hi,

Please try restarting the Service "DynamicsNAV90". Make sure your SQL Server instance related to NAV installation is also started and active.

You can either start the service(s) from Services.msc or Start -> Dynamics NAV 2016 Administration.

Report us if this doesn't work.

    Hope it helps.

If I run Dynamics NAV 2016 Administration I get this  error "The Dynamics NAV Server is not installed on this computer you can connect to  remote computer by invoking the 'connect to another computer' action. "

and the Service "DynamicsNAV90" is not listed in  Services.msc

    Hi,

Seems like the demo has not been installed correctly. Do you face any issues while installation? Please give us more insights please?

    Try installing to another machine?

When I tried installing first I got a problem related to Microsoft SQL server 2014 so I downloaded and installed it. Then I started getting this error

    "

    Microsoft Dynamics NAV Build 42815

    Error Report

    Server

    Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Components

    Erreur irrécupérable lors de l’installation.

The service 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV90]' (MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90) failed to start. This can be caused by one of several issues. For example, the password for the account that runs the service may be incorrect, or there could be a conflict in port sharing for the port settings for the service, or you have specified that the port for the server should be opened in the Windows firewall even though the Windows firewall is not enabled on the computer. For more information, see the event viewer. "

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times but still having the same problem

    Hi,

Please retry installing it to another pc? Just to check if you have done the process correctly.

    Hope it helps.

Are you doing the installation process correctly?

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd301193(v=nav.90).aspx

Have you run through this guide?

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd983822(v=nav.90).aspx

Check if your antivirus is not blocking your ports.

By Default DynamicsNAv90 service is running under Network Service user, so make sure you add that user to the SQL server and assing permissions for the database as dbowner. Then Restart the Service.

Check the event viewer for the detailed error messaged and send to us

    Hello,

Thank you all for your answers

I tried all this but it does not work, I have been told that I should install NAV2016 by choosing developer option. Now I am getting new error "

An error has occurred while trying to install required dependencies for Web Server components.

    "

I looked on internet and I think there is a problem in compatibility with upgraded version of Windows 10

I don't know if you have any suggestions or solutions to this problem

I am going to try and use a virtual machine that run on windows server and try to install NAV on it.

It will be my first time using virtual machine so what do you suggest ?

    thank you :)

    Dear Xavim,

Please tell us more about the environment you were initially trying to install to. Do you have other (older) versions of NAV installed? Also check that no other instances of NAV that are running have same port numbers as your DynamicsNAV90 server instance. Make sure that your SQL server agent and SQL server services are running. And follow Suresh's tip above about making sure Network Service is added as a login in SQL Management Studio and also added as dbowner.
