 Hi,

I have a problem with importing maps and data using the Data Migration Manager.

I have installed and configured the Data Migration Manager according to the installation guide.

After  the DMM start, when I'm trying to 'Manage Data Maps', appear the error: 'Data could not be retrieved from the databese. Try again later.'

Then i'm clicking OK and browse an .xml file to import. And in the middle of map importiong appear the same error: 'Data could not be retriever...'

I'm clicking OK, the process is running, but close the end appear second error: 'An error has occured. Please see the log file for more information.' Clicking OK and the process is cutting off with no results.

I have chcecked the .xml file on different dynamics CRM and this file is surely ok.

So, whot wrong am I doing?

I will be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards

Rafał

    Folks

I am getting the same problem. I have used DM wizard on several location but now at a client site had have insatalled dm wizard using the local sql express and rollup 7 as CRM server is 7  But I am getting the message ' data could not be retreived from the database? Firstly - what  database is it refering to . Is it the the sql databse on the Crm server or is it the migration database on the local sql server???

I am a certified Microsoft CRM professional and I have to say it still is a very flaky and unstable  product

    regards

Did you check that you have the System Administrator Role in your CRM Deployment? It is required to using the DMM... Maybe having permissions to access the Metadata should work too, but I never tried.
