Hello team,
I would like to know if its okay to change the value of "depreciation periods remaining" 1 from 16.42?
My intention is that i would like to charge the remaining depreciation amount this month or is it advisable to just change the amount in depreciation proposal journal lines from 100 to 1600?
let's say monthly depreciation is 100
remaining rounded up 100* 16 = 1600
Hello Ludwig,
thank you for your comment, it seems i found the answer with previous comment.
have a great day ahead!

Ace
hello Andre,
now, i understand thank you!
Hello Manabat,
I don't understand from your notes why this change is required.
Can you explain why you want to increase this number and what you try to achieve?
Many thanks,
Ludwig
Hi Manabat,
The remaining periods can be used if you want to have the current asset being "closed" in the next deprecation run. For this reason, you can set the value to 1.
As you are using "Straight line service life", the amount is not based on the remaining periods, but the original number of periods. For this reason, you have to change and check the amount before you post it.
So, you need to do both. You can also first post the deprecation journal with the desired amount and then set the remaining periods to zero.
