Does unit cost follow an item tracked item?

Hi all,

We use tracking numbers on all produced goods as these are unique. However looking at COGS and Unit costs  get the feeling the cost follows the FIFO-method disregarding that the specific produced unit was a certain tracked item.

Was looking at the documentation but couldn't really find anything saying if item tracking actually locks the cost for the item as well. In my accounting head it would make sense that the system uses FIFO disregarding any tracking items, but I

    You need to use Specific costing if you want to have lot specific costing otherwise the costing method defined on the item card is what is determining your unit costs.
