Re-order planning for Non-inventory items

We lose the planning functionality on the item or SKU card for non-inventory items but we would still like to have some regular re-orders for the non-inventory items. Really the cost is minimal so we don't want to have to track it but still want to track non-inventory inventory to an extent.

    Not sure I follow. Which type of items do you want to do this for? And what transactions are you posting?

    Any idea if I set the Inventory posting group to an expense or cogs account, if it would effectively write off the expense while keeping the inventory?

    The system doesn't track quantities for non-inventory items, so any planning won't work for them.

    You can use inventory items with the 'Inventory Value Zero' option checked. However, in this case, these items won't be expensed when you purchase them. This approach might work if their value is nominal, as you mentioned. More information can be found here:

    You can probably specify the location code , more or less only to this extent only as of the system now.
