Yes, our problem was we had two pdf programs installed.  Adobe and Ecopy.  We had to uninstall both and install ecopy 1st and then adobe and it works fine now.

Our files show the file name and the extension and show up as an icon.  We save not only the pdf but also e-mail messages on our files so that we have a record of everything (who approved etc).  and we don't loose the files.

    Choose Edit>>Insert New Object

    Choose “CREATE FROM FILE”

Then use the BROWSE to drill down to your file (needs to be in a shared location that will not change).

    Check off the LINK

Then CHECK OFF  “Display as Icon” (will show the icon when you open the attachment).

    OK

Any files saved like this should be in a location that they can be accessed by everyone in dept and they will not be renamed or moved.

By using the Save as Icon, you can attach multiple files as needed.

    Hi Larry,

Did you find solution for this problem? I am facing exact same issue.

    Thanks!

The files are already saved with a file name.  The problem is when i go through the process of inserting it in the ole notes, the filename is no longer there and when i try to edit and give it a name it doesn't happen.

We attach all ours as pdf's but rename the files when we scan them into the system.  See if that helps.

Sorry Larry I do not know then. GP is not creating that window for as it should be the exact same in GP as it is in Word Pad. I would recommend you open a support case.

Any idea why it won't work in GP?
