What is the different between Model-Driven-App - Sales Module - Sales Hub

Hey everybody,

I am a Dynamics CRM Developer and came back to Dynamics CRM last year after my education in 2017. I wanna teach me in all new functionallity in D365 CRM because my last used Version was Dynamics CRM 2016. Currently I don´t understand completly Model-Driven App, Sales Module and Sales Hub.

In some environments I saw a tile named "Sales Hub", "CRM Hub" or "Dynamics 265 - custom". As I looked in the default solution I found some of these tiles but some not. I know that I can create my own App under model-drive app in a Solution but I don´t know the differents.

I know that I can from office admin center install the modules and I can see the installed modules in the overview.

My question is:

1. Am I right that if I install for example "Sales Module" from office admin center this is a model-driven app developed by Microsoft?

2. What is the different between Sales Module and Sale Hub?

It would be really nice if anybody can give me a shot teaching and explain the new functionallity because I didn´t found good information to understand this new functionallity.

Thanks for all and have a nice day

    Hi,

Sales module contains core functionalities (BackEnd)

    SalesHub is an app (FrontEnd)

You can create your own model-driven-app using Sales core functionalities.

    Hi patner,

    1. If you install "Sales Module", you will get Sale Hub app, which is a model-driven app developed by Microsoft and is built on the Common Data Service platform.

    2. The full name of the sales module is "Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales", which is a functional module of D365 and a collection of Sales functions. It is not Model-Driven App.

When you purchase the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales license and install the "Dynamics 365 Sales Application" solution, your D365 will get the Sales Hub app.

You can use the functions of the Sales Module in the Sales Hub app and customize development based on it.

This is the introduction of Sales Module, we can see that it contains the sales process, which is the main business function of Sales.

You can think of "Sales Module" as a solution or a collection of functions, and "Sales Hub" is an entrance or window for users to use the "Sales Module" function.

You can also create a custom app to use the "Sales Module" function, because your D365 has already installed the "Sales Module", so your other apps can also use it.
