Hi,

If we can provide access to 3 users to edit the Purchase requisition(Created by Originator) when it is in Draft Status, Will they able to edit Purchase Requisitions on behalf of the originators? – Is this can done via Customization? Is this advisable way? OR will it create any problems/issues/impacts? Suggestions, please?

thanks in advance.

    Hi Steven,

Can you explain the full functional requirement here? In my opinion a review is part of a workflow, not when a requisition is in draft state. How should the reviewer know that a draft requisition is ready for review?

    Hi André,

    Many thanks for your reply.

As there is no possible way to edit a PR(created by originator) when it is in Draft status. Meaning, a PR #12345, in Draft Status, created by XXX cannot be editted by YYY or ZZZ. I then thought to workaround by using “Purchase Requisition Expenditure Reviewers” or “Purchase Requisition Permissions” (Procurement and sourcing> Setup> Policies). But again this will help for Request change, meaning anyone can do a request change to the originator when the PR is in Draft status but still, it can be edited only by the Originator.

Now can we do a customization for this requirement? Identifying specific users(Eg. 2 to 5 users), and provide them a kind of access, they will be able to edit Purchase Requisitions on behalf of the originators. Will this customization have any impact?

    Hi Steven,

I don't know all details by heart related to purchasing policies. I'm aware you can setup delegates for the requisitions. I cannot answer your question related to customizations. Of course, you can do customizations, but I don't know what you will create; thus cannot comment on the impact.

You can perform this customization, you can try to remove the control made on the Originator.

    Thanks,

    Hi Steven

The rules for PR Editing are very simple in AX. (Check out method: (table) PurchReqTable.checkUpdate().

    1. Draft PRs can only be edited by the originator

    2. In Review PRs can only be edited by Task owners

You could very easily modify rule #1 to cater for your needs, but be careful to figure out the full business process so as to not allow invalid people from editing
