Source control and Dynamics CRM

Hello,

In our Production environment we have one unmanaged solution. I wish to, in layman's terms, take a complete backup of our Prod. environment and put it into Team Foundation Server. The key thing would be that in source control we could then always "roll back" the Prod environment if necessary to an earlier version. So my questions below are focused on that key objective.

Can someone supply me with the exact steps required to do this please?

I know that we can export an unmanaged solution but the "wizard" that appears when doing this presents you with certain choices.

For example, choosing whether to export settings such as isv.config, email settings etc. What should one do here? Also, how do we control the version number of this one unmanaged solution?

Thanks

As I know, there is no a standard way to do it.

But I will give you the way that I use to resolve the same problem :

    - I use Developer Toolkit for all my CRM related developments (Plugins, Workflows, Webresources ...). Combining this tool with TFS you can have all historic you need about all modification on your components.

    - I use manually versionning on unmanaged solution in development crm server and I make a managed delivery.

    - I have a specific folder to save these mamanged solutions that I connected to TFS to keep all version in a one secure place to return ti any version I want.

N.B: Using Unmanaged Solutions in Production environment is not a good practice. An unmanaged solution cannot be removed properly.

Thanks Nizar. I assume you are using the SolutionPackager tool mentioned here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/devkeydet/archive/2012/09/20/crm-2011-visual-studio-and-source-control-of-non-code-customizations.aspx ?
