Problems setting up TEST company

Hi,

ill try to explain my problem.

i have GP 2016 with some companies configured.

i need to set up a TEST company with data from one of the live companies, i followed the steps in this article

to setup a new test company

until this point i dont have any problem but when i start GP and i select the test company jumps an error that says the following:

The config of the Microsoft Dyanmics GP database is not completed. Use the Microsoft Dynamics GP utilities to complete this configuration before starting Microsoft Dynamcis GP

I can enter to any company exept the test company

i appreciatte a lot your replies.

This should take care of that.

thanks for your answer, i found the solution. restore the original test database that GP creates when the test company was created, and then login to this company, then GP ends set up the company and then can restore the database of live company.

Don't forget that when you complete the restore of the Live data to the TEST named database that you will still have to update the SY00100 in the TEST as it will have been replaced with the LIVE values.
