Hello,
Is there a way to integrate dynamics to create two local or share point folders with the caption name ?
I have Sharepoint in a server.
In this server, I have Sharepoint admin and Sharepoint designer.
There is also a external website that is created by this share point. In this website there is a login to see the Sharepoint folders, but can also use window authentication to login. When window authentication login, I see site action and the folders being created when someone click on document button in dynamics 365.
I can also see the folders created in a share drive when I got to it on my computer.
How do I know where the folder is created in Sharepoint, meaning how do I create the location to store the folders when someone go to the CRM to create a new case which creates a folder.
Caption might be a customization.
Thanks for the link. I am reviewing it. But my Sharepoint is not office 365, it’s on premise and is 2010.
Caption is when you go to workplace, then you click on job, you can then select active jobs. You will see caption, which is the title of the job.
OK, since you are new to this, I recommend going through this article to setup sharepoint and understand the moving pieces
docs.microsoft.com/.../set-up-dynamics-365-online-to-use-sharepoint-online
After you have done the above, then you can create the Flow. Now, when you say caption, what do you mean by that? there is no entity called caption in Dynamics, can you tell me in a bit more detail what are you trying to achieve exactly?
What do I put for site address, list or library, and folder path ?
I know is site address is the Sharepoint site, I don’t know where or how to find this out, and list or Library and path of folder.
Which entity is that when the folder is created with the name of caption name. And the folder is created when you click into the job and you click on the drop down arrow and click on document ?
Ok I see that I can get to flow now but I wonder how is that related to my CRM though.
I see that url, but I don’t know what to put after that. How do I navigate to it without the url though ?
I actually showed the url in the first image. It is make.powerapps.com
Thanks for your pictures but I am new to dynamics 365. I don’t know where is
“—-PowerApps Maker Portal—“ or how to navigate to it ?
Now I don't know your exact requirements and what triggers the creation of those folders but below you can see an example of creating two sharepoint folders when an account gets created in Dynamics.
1) Navigate to the Flow section in the PowerApps Maker Portal
2) Create an empty automated Empty Flow
3) Give it a name and select the proper trigger
4) Select your org and the account entity
5) Add a new action to create a SP folder (this assumes that you already have a SP folder and you have permission to create folders in SP). I'm currently a system admin in both Dynamics and SP.
6) Put in your site url, and the folder name with its path. I named the first folder "Folder 1" But of course you can have the name dynamic (for example the Account Name plus some post/prefix)
You can see that the first folder got created where I told Flow to create it
To show the ability of having the account name in the folder name, I can add another action in Flow to create the second folder but this time the settings are like this:
And now you can see another folder created after creating an account in Dynamics with the account name being the folder name plus "2". My account name is "test"
Now, I don't know you exact needs, but I just wanted to show you that you have access to do the core SP functionality from within Flow and without any coding.
