Currency Setup

I am setting up a Company that will use only US Dollars.

I opened Multicurrency Setup just to indicate both Functional and Reporting currencies are US Dollars.

When I attempt to close the window, I receive a message that not all required fields have been entered and that Required Fields appear in bold red type. Thereis only one filed with that font. I assume there is another field that is actually required, but I can't tell what it is.

Is it possible that in my setup I indicated that I would need multiple currencies?

    Thank you for your response.

I was looking at those unpopulated fields but didn't realize that some values were required. The error message about required fields being displayed in Bold Red font also distracted my attention.

    Michael,

It looks like you are missing the default transaction rate type fileds below on the Multicurrency Setup window.

Based on your narrative you would just be using a single exchange rate table. You can fill all those fields with just one one rate type, say "BUY" if you intend to use a single exchange rate table. You may also use different rate types for each module if you wish.

You will need to define the rate type for your exchange table/s. Tools>Setup>financial> Rate Types. Look up the Exchange Rate Table you intend on using and highlight the Available Rate type on the left pane and click INSERT button to get that rate type on the Selected rate Type pane.

    Multicurrency Setup window.

Entered Z-US$ for Functional and Reporting Currency fields.

    Clicked 'OK'

    Received the following message:

Enter a default transaction rate type for each series with registered modules before saving changes to this window

I have existing companies that use this same setup and do allow General Journal entries.

What could be causing this in just one company?
